How much will it cost to add upgrade two lines to smartphones to my family plan for Verizon?

I have a Verizon family plan and have 4 lines. My son has a smartphone- but my daughter, husband, and myself do not. I know that my son’s phone cost an extra $ 30 a month because of the smartphone. If my daughter and I upgrade to smartphones, will my son’s $ 30 charge cover ours too, or do we have to pay an additional $ 30 for each additional smartphone? Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Smartphone Security best answer:

Answer by Nick F
Your sons will NOT cover yours. Each Smartphone requires its own Data Charge (The 30 dollars you pay for your sons). It should be noted that if you got his smartphone before a certain date, he will still have Unlimited Data (Data is used for streaming apps, downloading, watching videos, etc). You will not have that option. This is where Verizon gets expensive relatively fast. I would reccomend after your contract to go to either Sprint or T-Mobile.

Full disclosure: I am a Juniper employee, but I have not been focused on mobile device security (other than being a concerned mobile device user). I was looking for a resource to help me better understand the topic, and this book was pretty much perfect. It addresses what’s going on in the market, what’s important about creating and enforcing good enterprise policy, and is definitely NOT a Juniper product pitch. I just recommended it to about 10 customers today in a presentation. Excellent work Rich, Subbu, and Ashwin!
