The Amazon Fire tablet costs just £50, which is a bargain in anyone’s book. And now it comes with more storage, and in three new colours – unfortunately, tickled pink isn’t one of them.

You can choose from magenta, blue and tangerine, as well as the standard black option.

The 16GB model costs a tenner extra, at £59.99. But considering it has double the storage of the standard model, it’s not exactly expensive.

Amazon has also launched a higher-capacity model of the Fire Kids Edition. This is the tablet that Amazon challenges your kids to break – because if they succeed, Amazon will replace it free of charge, no questions asked. Within two years, anyway.

The 16GB Fire Kids Edition costs the same £99.99 as the original 8GB model.

The 16GB Fire and Kids Edition are available to pre-order now, and will ship on April 28. Both have a 7-inch screen, quad-core 1.3GHz processor and front and rear-facing cameras.
