HP computers announced three new laptops at an event in New Delhi last night. The three laptops announced by HP feature Bang & Olufsen speakers on-board. The three laptops include: HP Omen (5116TX), HP Pavilion 15 (AB028TX) and the HP Pavilion 15 (AB030TX). While the HP Omen is priced at Rs. 1,59,000, the prices for the HP Pavilion laptops start at Rs. 44,490.
The HP Omen laptop is aimed at gaming enthusiasts and packs top of the line specs. The laptop has a premium aluminium construction and features a 15.6-inch backlit IPS LCD which offers multi touch support. The laptop is powered by a fourth gen Intel Core i7-4720Q processor which is coupled with a 4GB Nvidia GTX960M GPU. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 RAM which is clocked at 1600Mhz and a 256GB PCIe SSD. All ports except the card reader are situated at the back of the laptop to provide unhindered gaming.
All edges of the laptop are tapered downwards to give it a slimmer look and with a weight of 2.12Kg, it manages to do so to some extent. The laptop packs a 4 cell Lithium Ion battery. As for the keyboard, HP has used an island type keyboard with RGB backlighting. Even the speaker on either side of the keyboard get a similar treatment.
The other two Pavilion laptops are aimed at mainstream users and they also feature speakers by Bang & Olufsen. These laptops offer a uni-body design with metal like finish on the exterior. The HP Pavilion 15 (AB028TX) features a 5th gen Intel Core i3 processor, 4GB of RAM, 15.6-inch 1080p display, AMD R7 M360 GPU with 2GB of VRAM, 1TB HDD and a DVD writer. The HP Pavilion 15 (AB030TX) features a 5th gen Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, 15.6-inch 1080p display, Nvidia GeForce 940M GPU with 2GB of VRAM, 1TB HDD and a DVD writer. Both laptops weight around 2.29 Kgs.
All laptops come with Windows 8.1 pre-installed and are now available via HP retailers and resellers.
