From an email sent out to Apple TV+ subscribers, Apple’s mega-budget series Foundation – based on Isaac Asimov’s award-winning novels — series premieres in September.

Foundation, known as the influence for Star Wars and Warhammer 40k, was first published January 1st 1951. 70 years later, we finally get the series.

“People have been trying to make Foundation for over 50 years,” Foundation executive producer and show-runner David Goyer says at the beginning of a new teaser. Goyer isn’t wrong either! Foundation has been the subject of many attempted adaptations, with the most recent being a Jonathan Nolan produced project for HBO in 2014.

The series is produced for Apple by Skydance Television.

Apple first announced Foundation back in 2018 at their WWDC conference and it has been long anticipated. Foundation stars Jared Harris as Hari Seldon, Lee Pace as Brother Day, Lou Llobell as Gaal, Leah Harvey as Salvor, Laura Birn as Demerzel, Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk, and Cassian Bilton as play Brother Dawn.

Foundation is executive produced by Robyn Asimov, David S. Goyer, Josh Friedman, Cameron Welsh, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross.
