“We’re working to restore service back to 100% for everyone.”
If you’re having trouble making your New Year’s Eve plans on WhatsApp, you’re not alone.
The mobile messaging service has confirmed that some users worldwide are experiencing service outages – but stressed that a fix is on the way.
A WhatsApp spokesperson told USA Today: “Some people have had trouble accessing WhatsApp today.
“We’re working to restore service back to 100% for everyone and we apologize for the inconvenience.”
No word yet on the cause of the outage, but the service does experience a spike in traffic during holidays. Last year, 54 billion messages were sent on New Year’s Eve.
WhatsApp Messenger was famously acquired by Facebook back in February 2014.
