Microsoft’s Surface Book wasn’t expected to arrive in the UK until early spring, so it came as a surprise when pre-orders opened up today (January 5).

The MacBook rival is available to purchase from Microsoft’s online store and Currys/PC World, with orders set to ship by February 18.

Microsoft’s Surface Book is a convertible laptop that comes with varying specs depending on how much the customer is willing to spend.

At one end of the scale is the 128GB model, which packs a Core i5 Skylake processor and 8GB of RAM, for £1,299.

The range-topping model includes 512GB of storage, a Core i7 chip, 16GB of RAM, and a separate graphics card in the base for £2,249. All versions come with a pen stylus for all of your drawing and sketching needs.

The Surface Book has been exclusive to the US since October, but is now ready to hit Austria, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Australia and Switzerland, as well as Britain.
